Monster Hunter World: Iceborne PC patch to fix performance and missing saves incoming
Other / 15. 1. 2020

Last week saw the long-awaited arrival of Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion on PC, but, for some, it wasn’t quite the cause for celebration it should have been. Players soon began to report significant performance issues following Iceborne’s installation, and, more troublingly, missing save games. Now, publisher Capcom says a fix for both is due in the coming days. Shortly after launch, Capcom took to Twitter to acknowledge Iceborne’s performance problems – which, according to reports, ranged from plummeting frame rates to constant freezing – telling players that it was “currently investigating”. It seems those investigations are now complete; in a new post to Steam, the publisher says it’s uncovered an issue with Iceborne resulting in an “unusually high level of CPU utilisation during active gameplay”. It has also confirmed player suspicions that save game problems stemmed from a previous Monster Hunter World update that adjusted file formats. If players had failed to download the update prior to installing Iceborne, existing saves would no longer be recognised. Read more

Warframe’s co-operative space combat Empyrean update is finally out on Switch
Other / 15. 1. 2020

Following its highly anticipated release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC late last year, Warframe’s Empyrean update, which brings deep space combat to the free-to-play sci-fi hit, is now finally available on Switch. First unveiled under the name Project Railjack during TennoCon 2019, Empyrean is primarily a co-operative experience, casting teams of four (each assigned the role of tactical, piloting, gunnery, or engineering) out among the stars for some spirited space skirmishes. Missions task players with completing various objectives – from eliminating foes to obliterating asteroids – and it’s even possible to board enemy ships to bring down opponents from within. With each success, individual roles can be levelled up, and Railjacks can be upgraded with functional improvements (affecting weapons, armour, and power) or cosmetic enhancements. Read more

An update to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released today, and it unlocks pre-order content for all players. Pre-order content included the orange lightsaber color, two hilts, a Bee-D-1 skin, and a gold Squadron Stinger Mantis skin. Along with the pre-order content, various fixes have been applied with the update. This includes collision on Ilum, Bounty Hunters will no longer get stuck in Zeffo, the Photomode camera no longer explodes rockets, and more. The full notes are below. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order  – January 15 update Fixes & Improvements Fixed an issue where Bounty Hunters would sometimes get stuck in Zeffo. Not only was the Photomode camera able to explode rockets, but it could also interact with trigger volumes within the levels that could potentially break the game. This was fixed to ensure that you can continue playing the game after using Photomode. Unfortunately, this also means that rockets will be unaffected by the camera moving forward. There was a bug that was causing one of the elevators in the last level to have a tendency of disappearing. It should now…
