2013 vs 2020: Which Final Console Year Will Be Better?
Other / 30. 9. 2019

2013 feels like forever ago, an era slowly fading away that included many iconic single-player narrative stories, a time before ongoing shared-world experiences existed, before the rise of loot boxes and microtransactions; an era where not every game was an open-world experience with RPG elements, before every game with backtracking was referred to as a “Metroidvania.” The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era was a  simpler time, and yet, here we are again on the cusp of the next generation of consoles, where cloud-based gaming is the hot new trend, and everyone has their own game streaming service. With that being said, 2020 might be the biggest year we’ve had in video games since 2007 (which saw the release of BioShock, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Super Mario Galaxy, and The Orange Box – which included Portal.) Ranking Every Resident Evil Spinoff
Other / 30. 9. 2019

Capcom recently announced Project Resistance, a team-based Resident Evil spin-off game that pits a group of survivors against the zombies and big bads the franchise is famous for. Respawn Entertainment is poised to hit the launch button on Apex Legends’ third season tomorrow, 1st October, but before its giant finger descends fully, the developer has offered up a gameplay trailer, showing off, among other things, its brand-new fire-and-ice-themed map. As revealed last week, Apex Legends’ third season will see the free-to-play battle royale shooter waving goodbye to its current Kings Canyon map, transporting its crack team of Legends to Planet Talos and the new World’s Edge map “where molten heat and chemical ice collide”. There’s a sizeable look at World’s Edge, including the moving train that forms something of a focal point for the new location, in the gameplay footage below. Read more

Apex Legends Season 3: Exclusive interview with Crypto actor Johnny Young
Other / 30. 9. 2019

There’s a lot going on in Apex Legends Season 3. Not only does Apex Legends Season 3 include an entirely new map, Meltdown, but it also introduces new Legend Crypto and a new weapon, the Charge Rifle. Crypto has been teased for months before Season 3 kicked off, but most recently he began appearing in-game briefly in the Labs area. All of these changes have been a long time coming, so we thought it was only fitting to sit down with Crypto actor Johnny Young to pick his brains about the new character, his own Apex Legends skills and how he got the role of Crypto. Apex Legends Season 3 begins October 1. Are you jumping back in? The post Apex Legends Season 3: Exclusive interview with Crypto actor Johnny Young appeared first on VG247.

PUBG Lite is coming to Europe next month
Other / 30. 9. 2019

The free-to-play of PUBG is coming to Europe this October. Developed specifically for less-than-high-end PCs – the free-to-play offshoot’s recommended specs are comparable to the full-fat version’s low specs – the free version of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds debuted in Thailand earlier this year with plans to hit other territories later on. Next up on the plate is the UK, Russia, and even Vatican City. A full list of countries in the open beta is available here. The Lite release will be playable in Europe starting October 10. Alas, no word on a North American launch yet but developer Bluehold Studio says it is still “planning to expand our service in many other countries”.
